In other words, I believe all human beings are due equal protection under the law. Personhood Kansas understands this and is working towards the day when all human beings are protected by both love and law. This is why Personhood Kansas has my full support.

And James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
Westlink Christian Church believes every child is made and given life by God. Life is precious and must be protected by love and law. The advancement of a Personhood Amendment to the Kansas State Constitution provides protection to the unborn child and the often unsupported mother at critical points in their lives. As a church we are committed to provide care for children and parents as part of a future vision when abortion will be a sad, but distant memory for America.
We believe we all share some responsibility for the damage that has been done by sin but we cling to the true knowledge that our Savior Jesus Christ desires to forgive all who ask his forgiveness.

I believe in the sanctity of life! Our church believes in the sanctity of life! We believe that God desires for Christian believers to take a stand for children in the womb. We believe that God calls us to take a stand in a way that honors Him and shows the love of God to those who believe differently. The agenda of Personhood Kansas honors the right to life in a way that does honor God. As Christians we are called to have a loving voice that supports the unborn child. By amending the organic documents that form the very bedrock of the American legal order to protect the unborn we place those little lives in the safest haven which we can reach this side of Eternity. By amending the organic documents that created what the Founders called “the laboratories of democracy” we bind the abortionists with the surest bonds available this side of Hell. By amending the organic documents in keeping with the high ideals of subsidiarity we rebuke a federal system that is drunk of the blood of America’s next generation and set up a case for review before the highest secular court this side of Heaven.
Some will say the time is not right for such bold action. Martin Luther King, Jr. was told that as well. We join his reply: “The time is always right to do what is right.”
Some will say such action is patently futile. Mother Teresa was told that as well. We join her reply: “I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.”
Some will say such action is far too disruptive. Dietrich Bonhoeffer (a modern martyr) was told that as well. We join his reply that it is not enough to merely “bandage the victims under the wheel,” we must also “jam the spoke in the wheel itself.”

There was a time when children were considered a supreme blessing of a marriage rather than
a burden to society. No baby should be a benchmark or luxury or right. Every child must be
loved, cherished, and nurtured from the moment of conception. One need not have a lot of
money to raise a child, only true love. Love for the whole human race will bring us back and
redeem our lives from the pit.
The Personhood movement will help us remember how to love one another.

I strongly urge everyone to support the Kansas Personhood Amendment, which would amend
the Kansas Constitution to “guarantee the inalienable rights, equal protection and due process of law of every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being, including fertilization.”
We’ve been stuck in the desert for nearly 40 years. I’m tired of those who are afraid of the “giants in the land.” Chipping away at abortion has not brought us any closer to ending abortion in our nation. God is not going to honor mediocrity and compromise when it comes to the slaughter of innocent children who He created in His image. I want to have the same spirit of boldness that David and Caleb and Joshua had, recognizing that God is on our side and we don’t need to be afraid. Let’s take this giant out by hitting him where it counts. With this issue, personhood is where it counts, and the opposition knows it.

With all of the current evidence, the real question today is not when human life begins or about the issue of personhood, but whether to give value to a human life or a person especially at their beginning and most vulnerable stages of existence. In the 1981 Senate Hearings on the beginning of human life, the many medical and scientific witnesses who testified disagreed on many things, including the value to place on a human life at its earliest beginnings, but not on the scientific evidence that the preborn child is alive, is a distinct individual, and a member of the human species. There is no cause more important for preserving freedom than affirming the personhood of all human beings. The Legislature has exclusive and ample power to determine the public policy of the state. It is long overdue for the Legislature of Kansas to recognize the right to full human personhood for all human beings, born and preborn, and affirm the inalienable right to life of all human beings guaranteed by Section 1 of the Bill of Rights of the Kansas Constitution. Let it be recognized in our public policy that the State of Kansas does indeed place a great value on all human life.
